Artist Statement

As a disabled queer woman, I ask questions about the world, as not asking questions often leads to violence and misunderstanding of different groups, which affects the communities I exist within. I’m an abstract photographer, creating photographs that allow people to question what they are looking at and why. I evoke color to convey the emotion I wish people to feel when they see my photographs. My photos are close-ups and intimate with their subjects, framed so that only part of the subject is visible. I look at the individual parts of the subject, focusing on what stands out above all else.
